Cold peace with Russian means terminating NATO expansion along Russian borders, accepting a Russian “sphere of influence” in the former Soviet states, and enticing Russia to join in an effort against China.
This mural was painted by a Lithuanian street artist across the back of a BBQ restaurant in the Baltic capital of Vilnius in 2017 but is even more relevant today, following a curiously close relationship that has emerged between the two leaders.
But however loudly Putin and Trump blow each other’s trumpet, their actual compatibility is yet to be tested. In the Lithuanian mural, Trump and Putin are locked in a testosterone-fueled kiss, turning their mutual regard into a moment of intense physical intimacy. Or does it? Both their eyes are open indicating both warmth and mistrust, and adoration and doubt, which transcends the superficial physical attraction.
