IS TRUMP FOR REAL?

Trump’s bizarre bromance with Putin has gone on for over a decade now. Trump remained loyal to Putin throughout his first term, and, in 2018, sided with Putin against his own intelligence sources denying that there was any Russian interference in the 2016 election. Trump again reconfirmed this when he won the 2024 election, stating that he and Putin went through hell together during the “stupid US witch-hunt” which bonded them.
During his second term, Trump has also stayed loyal to Putin. He offered Putin favourable concessions to sign a peace deal with Ukraine, including lifting sanctions, recognizing Crimea and the four Russian-occupied Ukraine regions as part of Russia and barring Ukraine from NATO. Trump called Zelensky a dictator and sarcastically “the best salesman in the world” for obtaining billions of dollars of US military aid from Biden. Trump even suspended further military aid and intelligence sharing with Ukraine.
It has been written that the Russians “recruited” Trump a long time ago and clearly helped him win the 2016 elections – that would explain the bromance.
However, in an about-face, Trump has now pledged to sell billions of dollars of military equipment to NATO who will then transfer the weapons to Ukraine. Trump is also considering buying battlefield-tested Ukrainian drones in exchange for Ukraine purchasing weapons from the US. Trump has also threatened to impose 100 per cent tariffs on Russian trading partners importing oil and gas (China, India & Turkey) if Putin does not sign a peace deal to end the war in 50 days. Russia immediately rejected this threat.
So, is the recent change in Trump’s stance real or an act? Why give Putin another 50 days to sign a peace deal? Why wait 50 days to impose the tariffs? Is it because Trump IS Putin’s asset and/or because Putin has a lot of dirt on Trump, presumably including the Epstein files? We may find out by 2nd September.
